Colorado Department of Labor and Employment – Unemployment tax

Add to existing company setup

Submit a request to your service team to add CO (withholding) and/or COSUI (unemployment) to your company setup.  Please include the below with your request:

Colorado Department of Revenue

  • Withholding – Deposit Frequency and Account number.  If you’re unsure of your deposit frequency or account number, you can call the agency at 303-238-7378.

Colorado Department of Labor and Employment

  • Unemployment – Tax rate and Account number.  This can be found on a Tax Rate Notice or the Quarterly contribution and wage report.  If you’re unsure of your tax rate or account number, you can call the agency at 800-480-8299.

Power of Attorney – POA is required, please obtain the prefilled form from your client service representative.

Register a new company

Colorado Department of Revenue and Department of Labor and Employment

You can apply for both taxes online at https://apps.colorado.gov/apps/jboss/cbe/index.xhtml.  This will get you registered with both the Department of Revenue and the Department of Labor. Once you have registered online, you will immediately receive your account information followed up by a letter in the mail.

Third Party Registration and/or Power of Attorney Instructions

Power of Attorney is required, please obtain the prefilled form from your client service representative.
